PERSONALITY

'Hell I'll always fight" would be the best way to describe him, Dum Dum is a man's man who goes after a problem like a terrier with a chew toy.There are few blemishes on his file, and most of them are too far out of anyone's clearance range to matter. He's loyal to the bone and is basically the walking embodiment of all the good things SHIELD stood for.

HISTORY

 Born in the early 1900s to Irish Immigrant parents, Thaddeus Aloysius Cadwallader Dugan (Timothy Aloysius Cadwallader Dugan is his more commonly used full name) was The Strongman in a traveling circus in the 1930's, traveling around Europe before assisting Nicholas Fury and Samuel Sawyer, rescue British soldiers that were captured by Germans during their invasion in the Netherlands, during this time he was inspired into joining the British armed forces.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor Dum Dum was transferred to the United States Army's 107th infantry. It was here that he would be stationed and captured with one James 'Bucky' Barnes, Gabriel Jones, and his future commandos. He was eventually freed by Captain Steve Rogers. Not long after being freed and taking down the HYDRA base with the other escaping captive soldiers Dum Dum was asked to join the Howling Commandos. He accepted (on the condition of more beer of course) and over time he and his fellow Commandos helped take out, an undetermine a number of Hydra bases during the period of 1944 and Steve Rogers disappearance into the Artic in 1945.


After Steve's disapperance Dugan continued to serve with his fellow commandos until V-Day.It was at this point that Dum Dum attempted to rejoin the circus life and forget about the war, but he couldn't stay away for long, and helped off and on in Howard Stark's search for Captain Rogers, and presumably he eventually helped to found the original SHIELD with it's leaders Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, and Colonel Philips. It is unknown how he would have felt about the hiring of Zolof of all people, but I imagine it wasn't the warmest of receptions. Sometime in this period is where things become crossed between mcu and comic canon. With the possibility of the Zodiac serum serving in guise of the infinity serum, Dum Dum's aging was decreased to a radical rate and it, and following a number of bizarre events that seemed to have led to the end of Dugan's life-he was eventually found cryogenically frozen, when he awoke he was informed of the deaths of his wife and children and returned to active duty as a means to cope.
